Prerequisite: Successful completion of Level 5. Students learn to swim with ease and efficiency and gain the ability to swim smoothly over greater distances. Learning objectives: Increase endurance while swimming front (100 yards) and back (50 yards) crawls, butterfly (50 yards), elementary backstroke (100 yards), breaststroke (50 yards) and sidestroke (50 yards), demonstrate front and back flip turns and open turns for freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, sidestroke and butterfly, surface dive and retrieve an object in water 7 feet deep, demonstrate use of pull buoys, fins and place clock, swim the Cooper 12 minute swim test and swim 500 yards continuously using any 3 strokes of choice.

NC Nature Camp 8 (8/12-8/16) - 106269

Eleanor Buck Wolf Nature Center's "Nature Camp": 4 Year Old Pre K through Grade 6 (in Spring).Swim lesson levels 1-5 offered to all day campers on a first-come, first-served basis during selected two week clinics (note must be registered for both weeks of the clinic in order to be eligible). Financial Assistance is available upon request by contacting the office. Early and Late options provide time for additional activity centers. Each class led by an educator and assistant counselor (1:10 ratio minimum) supported by volunteers, lifeguards and staff certified in first aid.

Under the leadership of our CIT Director, participants will spend time developing leadership, communication and teamwork skills while gaining experience by helping students during lessons.
