Adult educators with teen assistants. Early sign in and late sign out options provide extra time for animal visits, crafts, reading, games, etc.
This week we will learn about the many ecosystems on the African continent. From rain forests to deserts, lowland valleys to the Mountains. Each day will introduce the geography, wildlife, peoples, etc. of each ecosystem. Of course there also will be time to visit with the nature center's animals and play outdoors.

Age 2. Parent/caregiver and child participate in educational and hands-on activities utilizing curriculum focused on the animals that reside at the EBW Nature Center. Using their five senses, children will compare and contrast their anatomy, habitat and diet to the reptiles, mammals, birds, fish and amphibians at the Nature Center. Activities will include literacy, music and art connections as well as outdoor exploration. Circle time and games will help develop social skills and engage curiosity about the natural world. Financial assistance available. Winter and spring sessions cover different animals.

NEW MIXED AGE GROUP Ages 2-6. Parent/Caregiver and child/ren participate in hands on activities designed to encourage inquiry into the natural world as well as foster social, physical and academic skills. A great way to get out and about with multiple siblings, or just join the class with one child because the time frame works for you. Pamela will work with the individual group to discover what activities and challenges will work best. Music, movement, explorations and animal visits. Dress for the weather because we will always take a short nature walk. Pack a small snack for story time.

NC Volunteer Orientation - 406140

Students, adults and interns may volunteer as greeter, gardener, animal caretaker, special events assistant, etc. Orientation introduces the season's programs and special events, on-going and short-term volunteer opportunities and basic safety training. Please note: Animal care volunteers, are required to volunteer a minimum of two hours per week, for a total minimum of 25 hours during a three month period or academic semester.

Basic training for outdoor enthusiasts and group leaders.
