Programs will give each child a positive introduction into sports while fostering a lifelong love for an active, healthy lifestyle. Students will take part in a variety of skill-building games and activities to give each athlete a complete understanding and overview of many different popular sports and games. Sports and games include capture the flag, soccer, ultimate frisbee, basketball, kickball, baseball, 4 square, flag football, team handball and many more. Kids will play 2-4 different games/sports each week.

They will work in teams, strengthening their collaboration, communication, and critical thinking skills as they work to code their rover to explore the surface of the moon and solve challenges together to build a lunar habitat.

Topics explored will include how animals interact with their environments, how and what animals eat, special features and characteristics that help animals and plants survive, and more! Students will also work together to analyze evidence and solve an animal crime. These sessions will be hands-on, student-driven ways for learners to build STEM confidence and skills.

Led by a Hartford Stage teaching artist, students will work toward a performance of a short play based on folk stories and fables. As they act, sing and dance, they will learn the foundations of drama: building an ensemble, developing a character, practicing proper vocal and movement techniques, and strengthening concentration and focus skills. The program will end with an informal performance for parents and friends.

Use the basics of machine learning with robots and autonomous vehicles to perform simple tasks. Prepare to shape a world driven by intelligent technology. Our video games lead you through the key steps of designing AI models. This involves defining the inputs (how the AI models perceive their environment), the outputs (how the AI models react), and the reward system (how the AI models learn). There is no coding in this program, but simply learning how to teach an AI model to think.

Get ready to spin and groove in our Fun DJ music mixing Class! Designed for young music enthusiasts, this exciting program teaches the basics of DJing in a fun and interactive way. Kids will learn to mix tracks, create their own beats, and rock the dance floor like a pro. Laptops, DJ controllers, and headphones are provided. With hands-on activities and plenty of play, it's the perfect class for budding DJs to explore their creativity and love for music. No experience is necessary - just bring your energy and get ready to have a blast!

Join Dorothy and her loyal companion Toto as they “Follow the Yellow Brick Road” through the Land of Oz, determined to reach the Emerald City, where the great and powerful Wizard of Oz will help them get home. Of course, along the way, Dorothy encounters witches (both good and bad), Munchkins, talking trees and winged monkeys. But most importantly, she befriends three unique characters: a Scarecrow with no brain, a Tin Man with no heart, and a Lion with no “nerve.” Experience auditioning for a role, be coached through the rehearsal process, and work as an ensemble singing, dancing and acting to produce a play. All workshops, rehearsals, tech, and performances are mandatory. The musical will conflict with festival chorus, band, or orchestra.
